Creed have assisted Gondola Group in a Project Management role at ASK Worcester. The listed building in question is the former Corn Exchange which has suffered a number of major leak issues. The scale of the building and nature of its open volume presented numerous problems – not least access.
 
Working closely with the WCC Conservation Department, the team achieved a result which reinstates the restaurant to its former glory and conforms to the conservation requirements.
 


Extensive roof replacement works incorporated a reinstated large glazed roof light and substantial structural reinforcement.
 
 
 
Throughout the duration of the contract, further deterioration of the trusses and external finishes became evident. The project engineer ensured the structural reinforcements were as visually recessive as possible.
 
 
 
After 14 months on-site, the restaurant refurbishment works are now completed - providing a spectacular vaulted ceiling view over a refreshed dining space.
