Nottingham
This new start-up demanded a full design package to be produced to aid the client in securing funding for the venture and expected roll-out. Initial Brand development studies were prepared to win the support of investors and potential landlords.
A striking environment that utilised bespoke furniture and carefully considered details - including a unique vase designed and commissioned for the project. Warm timbers to the counters and furniture were juxtaposed with hard-wearing tiled floors and bright, illuminated counter displays. A variety of seating solutions ensured the full range of clients is catered for.
A very happy client!
"A design team that exudes ideas, creativity and energy with loyalties second to none"
Alistair Hawken, founder and principal of Panini (Europe) Ltd.
Chelsea
To bring an established web-based brand, specialising in business maternity wear, to a high profile location on the King's Road in Chelsea. Generous turning circles and ease of access to products were essential ingredients to this project.
Careful space planning ensured that expectant clientele were able to browse and change with ease, whilst retaining high levels of stock and display. Contemporary chandeliers and bespoke cherry components provided the necessary warmth and ambience the client called for. Exposed timber flooring and elements of reclaimed furniture balanced the bespoke rectilinear display units and display system.
A sharp looking retail unit which befits its premium location and provides a practical space for its clientele.
Leicester
A ten year working relationship ensured that, when an urgent solution to a new site was required, Creed were called. Still in Landlord negotiations, the initial meeting in September established the need to be open and trading within 2 months.
Yikes! Creed prepared initial proposals around the client's stock requirements, whilst simultaneously negotiating with potential contractors. The proposals, including signage, bespoke display fittings and local authority approvals were fast-tracked without losing sight of the need to design and produce an enticing and vibrant environment in a prime location.
The shop opened for trade on December 3rd, after serious effort from designers, client and Shopfitters alike. Not the most relaxing way to do business, but a real sense of achievement was felt by all.
"I really didn't think you'd do it, but it's great!"

A conversion from the client's existing Caffe Uno brand into their premium BCG offer, with a 14 day turnaround. A compendium of brand essentials and detail had to be adapted and applied to the scheme.
A larger bar, additional covers and the inclusion of the essential seating types were cleverly incorporated into the same dining space. A greatly upgraded garden area provides al fresco dining for this busy high street restaurant.
The successful upgrade of an existing chain restaurant to a premium dining venue.
Chelsea
A conversion of a Grade 2* listed former 'Royal Military Asylum for the Children of the Regular Army' into a modern, high-end restaurant and delicatessen. Situated in the newly-renovated Duke of York Square, off the King's Road, the brief demanded for much of the rich history to be retained.
Creed devised a scheme which reflects this rich character - with exposed brickwork and original military-related stone detailing. Solid oak floor and leather upholstery echo this, counterposed by industrial-style lighting and exposed ductwork. The delicatessen and bar increase the appeal and range offered. A garden area to the rear adds to the al fresco covers seen at the front.
The listed nature of the project ensured that Creed worked closely with the development management and conservation officer to achieve a historically sympathetic, yet dynamic, scheme.
Worcester
Combining two sites into one unit resulted in a wide frontage, providing views to the green and the Cathedral. The aim was to incorporate local historical references into the fabric of the environment.
A large bespoke artwork, featuring the Oak apple, alongside specially commissioned lights made from Worcester Spode with a Worcester Black Pear motif water-jet cut out - draw in local historical references. Lea and Perrins kindly provided full and empty bottles to create a 'saucy' screen....
An open and welcoming restarant with views of the cathedral that continues to trade above client expectations.
"Unusually, PizzaExpress doesn't roll out a standard design of its restaurants, each one is bespoke designed and so all are distinctly different. Creed understand our culture for great design and art, our operational needs and our often challenging time scales and budgets."

Liverpool, Kings Dock
The site forms part of the regeneration of the City, and is a key site for Liverpool's year as the 'European Capital of Culture 2008'. A double-height building, by Wilkinson Eyre Architects, faces the Mersey and the new Echo Arena - boasting a double-height curved glass facade.
Two entrances and two floors, with over 250 covers, demanded dynamic space planning and the incorporation of spectacular design and lighting features. Local photographer, Pete Carr, was commissioned to produce a 13m long panoramic image of the Liverpool waterfront - celebrating the Mersey and its importance to the City.
One of PizzaExpress' best performing sites, with fantastic sunsets thrown in!
"Creed have delivered on an exciting yet appropriate solution that our customers really appreciate. Despite often difficult constraints their solutions are always exciting yet considered."

Bromsgrove
Oh dear... A former building society with all the charm that a 1980's conversion can muster. A long, narrow space in need of a full reworking to add width and much-needed drama.
A faceted spiral twists through the space - rotating colour and forms over the walls and ceilings - providing the necessary dynamism. The multi-coloured counter, visible from the street and illuminated typography from local luminary A.E. Housman draws people in from the outside. Additional references to Bromsgrove's key historical industry as a Nailtown, punctuate the restaurant. Reproductions of glass-plate images, found on site, of Bromsgrove folk dating from the early 1900s reveal more history of the building and its previous uses.
A local restaurant from an international client - responsive to location and site.
Bristol
Located in a new harbour-side development, the wedge shape of the building also provided an evocative link to the historical usage of the site. The aim was to add character and personality to an anonymous developer's box.
Taking the cue from the prow shaped shopfront and proximity of the SS Great Britain, the design incorporates several shipping and maritime references. The ceiling profiles evoke the ribbed structure of timber hulls, with a sign-written illustration of a Buoy referencing the Bristol Channel adjacent.
"Creed manage to offer a fresh and innovative approach to every one of the projects, and have delivered an exciting yet appropriate solution."

Melton Mowbray
A listed, and locally important, community building requiring careful and considered conversion into a modern, and historically sympathetic restaurant space.
A rich history provided much source material for the restaurant interior. Local authority and conservation need were met and a palette of modern, but classic materials were introduced. Artworks were produced - inspired by local historical links to the church and Melton's claim to the phrase "Paint the town red", as well as the medieval reputation as a market town. Bespoke paintings and light fixtures compliment the striking colour scheme and double height dining room, with crisp modern detailing to the customer WCs.
A popular and unique addition to Melton's bustling town centre and to the client's portfolio
