AN INTERIOR REFRESH & BRAND CONCEPT FOR A LONG-STANDING OPTOMETRIST CLIENT

We were briefed by our long-standing client Gordon Turner Optometrists to part refurbish our original fit-out, nearly 20 years on. The brief was to retain the appeal of the Surrey based opticians practice but provide an updated and fresh look.

The aim was to create a high quality and well-constructed environment to complement the products. Our interior design included new low energy directional spot lighting and warm Amtico herringbone flooring. With some French polishing and light repair work, as much of the existing timber display units was retained as possible – testimony to the build quality and craftsmanship from the original fit-out.

The interior design had to take into consideration clients with visual impairment; high contrast materials, quality lighting and non-slip flooring were key elements, whilst not compromising on the aesthetics so that a contemporary yet reassuring environment for customers was retained.

We also prepared a number of graphic design proposals to appear in all areas of their business, from signage, letter heads and appointment cards to saleable items such as spectacle cases and cleaning products.

With refreshed joinery, newly specified efficient lighting and new floor finish, we’re proud that our original design and high quality fit-out still looks impressive and has stood the test of time.
