CREED DESIGN SHORTLISTED FOR COVETED MULTIPLE RESTAURANT CATEGORY
It is always wonderful when our design skills are formally acknowledged; but we are particularly thrilled that one of our restaurant designs has been shortlisted for a coveted Restaurant & Bar Design Award. Created for our client PizzaExpress this design for central London site, Langham Place, is in the shortlist for the Multiple Restaurant category.
This was an exciting project to work on as it was a test bed for a new look for the casual dining brand that intended to ‘futureproof’ its business. A key element of the design was a large bar that needed to be a destination in its own right. We positioned the bar near the shopfront as to be viewed from the busy street outside. Antique bronze mirrors, warm concealed lighting and a curved timber slatted screen all help to highlight the bar, making it a real focus point and an excellent spot for cocktails. This project was truly a team effort with every element of the restaurant being carefully considered and designed. It was essential that we communicated our vision to the client who was based in the UK and Mainland China so we introduced 360-degree Virtual Reality models of the proposed restaurants, that could also be viewed with a Smart Phone, via a QR code. This enabled our team of Interior Designers to develop and refine the design, ensuring the environment could be easily differentiated from its competitors.
The well-established Restaurant and Design Awards are internationally recognised, with entries from over 100 countries worldwide. They are a showcase of excellent hospitality design covering every imaginable space; from museums to burger vans, from revered Michelin-starred establishments to the fleeting dynamism of pop-ups. Due to COVID, the Awards Ceremony will be virtual this year and can be viewed on the Restaurant & Bar Awards website on Thursday the 15th October, 14:00 UK time. We will be taking the opportunity to view all the other shortlisted projects and celebrate the fantastic creativity that our Design sector offers.
